DÜRR Systems AG migrated its DXQequipment.analytics software for robot-based paint shops to the ADAMOS' IIoT technology and at the same time developed an associated streaming analytics system for use in the customer's network - with cloud option included.

Robot-based painting and sealing systems from DÜRR Systems AG combine leading plant engineering, high-performance robotics, intelligent control technology and comprehensive process know-how to create unique complete systems that enjoy the highest recognition and maximum trust worldwide. Because they offer the user high quality and reliability in series production. DÜRR is increasingly relying on future-oriented IIoT technologies. A look at the DXQequipment.analytics system shows this.

With DXQequipment.analytics DÜRR Systems AG has developed a software tool with which process and movement data of individual robots and entire painting and sealing cells can be recorded and made available for further analysis. The system includes a data recorder, a database for data storage and a visual analytics module. Visual Analytics" forms the basis for providing the user with further data-driven insights into his system and from this to recognize new patterns and cause-and-effect relationships. These in turn form the basis for further automation. The bottom line is that the system aims to use the generated information to make processes more efficient, eliminate faults and support maintenance work.

Within the scope of an innovation project, the DXQequipment.analytics software is currently being migrated to the Edge technology of ADAMOS. The strategic platform change is connected with the participation of DÜRR AG as a founding member of the ADAMOS Alliance in October 2017 and aims to harmonise all of DÜRR's IIoT technologies across all corporate divisions and group companies.

Compared to the DXQequipment.analytics standard module, Streaming Analytics significantly increases the functional scope of intelligent data processing and thus sets a milestone both for automated efficiency increase and with regard to situation-based quality assurance.

The high functionality also underlines the possibility to generate new analysis models without programming knowledge. For this purpose, DÜRR together with Software AG (also a partner of the ADAMOS Alliance) has developed an editor, which allows the user to use a library of predefined and configurable analysis modules in order to assemble them graphically supported to more comprehensive (new) analysis modules.

Thus the Streaming Analytics solution becomes a powerful lever to successively incorporate the process knowledge of the plant operator and his employees into automated monitoring routines. Parallel to this, DÜRR itself is also constantly developing new production-oriented analysis modules which the customer can fall back on if necessary.
