ADAMOS - von Maschinenbauern für Maschinenbauer: schlagkräftige Allianz von 16 Partnern

ADAMOS is growing with new partners and offers

  • New partners: Mayer & Cie. GmbH & Co. KG, Schlenker Spannwerkzeuge Inge & Josef Meißner GmbH & Co. KG and WITTENSTEIN SE

  • New offers: Digital Transformation Services (DTS)

  • New ideas: “Digital Days” looks at the opportunities and challenges of digitization

With innovative solutions and offers, ADAMOS actively promotes digitization in mechanical engineering. Its services are from mechanical engineering, for mechanical engineering, as well as their suppliers and customers. Digitization is only possible if strong partners are involved. An increasing number of companies are recognizing this and building on the strategic potential of the platform economy. As an open, digital and vendor-independent IoT platform, ADAMOS is attaining more and more partners for the global, industry-spanning alliance of leading mechanical engineering companies. With Mayer & Cie. GmbH & Co. KG from Albstadt, Schlenker Spannwerkzeuge Inge & Josef Meißner GmbH & Co. KG from Villingen-Schwenningen and WITTENSTEIN SE from Igersheim, three more well-known companies have now joined the ADAMOS network; it now consists of 15 renowned machine and plant manufacturers as well as Software AG.

New partners, new offers, new ideas: ADAMOS strives to combine technology with network. In addition to the Community and IoT platform, ADAMOS now offers Digital Transformation Services (DTS). It’s a standardized offer for training, consulting and implementation services that facilitates machine manufacturers’ ability to implement digital business models.

Strategies for successful digital transformation were also the recent focus of the “Digital Days” events in Leonberg and Barcelona, at the world’s largest trade fair for the textile machinery industry (ITMA). Together with the VDMA’s “Allianz Industrie 4.0 Baden-Württemberg,” the Textile Machinery Association and the partner companies, ADAMOS presented technologies and concrete application examples – as well as the new Digital Transformation Services (DTS) – to more than 350 participants. Baden-Württemberg’s Interior Minister Thomas Strobl, who is responsible for digital matters in the state government, emphasized the relevance of mechanical engineering in his keynote speech. “Baden-Württemberg is one of the international frontrunners when it comes to innovative and industrial regions. Alliances such as ADAMOS can also benefit small and medium-sized companies in this sector.”

Arno Gärtner, CEO of KARL MAYER Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH, made the case for more cooperation in Barcelona: “Adaptation speed is extremely high with respect to software and digital solutions. If we share our knowledge and work together to create and use standards, then we can secure our leading position in the digital age.” In making this statement, he referred to Mayer & Cie. GmbH & Co. KG, which has been an ADAMOS partner since April. Mayer & Cie. developed its customer portal “knitlink” based on the ADAMOS IoT platform within just a few weeks and successfully launched it at ITMA 2019.

Together with its partners, ADAMOS has created a network of trust for open collaboration with common rules. This provides the space for each company to shape its digital future in an autonomous and active manner.

Ralf W. Dieter, Chairman of the ADAMOS Advisory Board and CEO of Dürr AG, says: “At ADAMOS, we learn from each other. Digital transformation is a very complex issue for companies to approach on their own.”

Christian Thönes, ADAMOS Advisory Board member and CEO of DMG MORI AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT emphasized, “ADAMOS is unique because it is manufacturer-independent! We machine builders participate from each other. At the EMO in Hannover in September ADAMOS will show concrete digital solutions at DMG MORI in hall 2."

Dr. Tim Busse and Dr. Marco Link, the two ADAMOS managing directors, clarify: “The mechanical engineering sector must join forces when it comes to digitalization and the platform economy. It can only be done when we work together because the challenges are great: from providing financial and human resources for the development of new applications to the creation of data-based business models.”

Preparations for another highlight are already in full swing: ADAMOS will be presenting new IoT solutions, projects and customer references at EMO Hannover – the world’s largest machine tool exhibition – from September 16-21, 2019 in Hall 2. The focus will be on horizontal networking for access to applications and data spanning multiple manufacturers and IoT platforms.
