Successful continuation of the ADAMOS HACKATHON series

ADAMOS HACKATHON 4.2: Creative ideas for digital manufacturing

From August 26 - 29, 2018 the second ADAMOS HACKATHON 4.2 took place at Dürr AG in Bietigheim-Bissingen. More than 60 participants - including 50 "hackers" - met the challenges of the mechanical engineering and plant construction industry in seven interdisciplinary teams. The aim was to generate functioning digital prototypes or solutions for special applications in two and a half days.

SSame as ADAMOS HACKATHON 4.1, the 3.5-day event started with a teambuilding activity. In mixed groups, the 50 participants, who had been foreign until then, had to prove themselves in a scavenger hunt through Ludwigsburg. So on Sunday evening it was easy to discuss and prepare the "pitches" for the upcoming hackathon competition in a relaxed atmosphere. The seven teams then had 2.5 days to prepare a presentable prototype from the idea.

The core idea of ADAMOS is to jointly develop digital business models that offer added value to all partners and especially their end customers. And this was also evaluated by the jury. On Wednesday, August 29, 2018, the jury awarded the team with the "1-click-order" app first place. The application convinced all partners and the jury with a ready-to-use and quickly integrable solution. 2nd place went to "Smart Data Gurad", 3rd place to the "FlexEdge" app. Other finalists included the members of the "zipee" team, which received the "Cross Collaboration Award".

HACKATHON for the ADAMOS Partner Network

For ADAMOS the partner network is crucial. The ADAMOS Partner Network ensures the continuous exchange of knowledge and access to resources to achieve common goals. By jointly developing apps for similar problems, partner companies can implement their digital business models more cost-efficiently and quickly. With this in mind, the ADAMOS Hackathon series regularly brings together developers, designers and product managers from all partner companies, thus promoting ADAMOS' team spirit and innovative strength.

Dürr CEO Ralf W. Dieter, currently Chairman of the ADAMOS Advisory Board and host of ADAMOS HACKATHONS 4.2, said: "It's fascinating what comes out of giving 60 smart minds the freedom to design and program applications without restricting specifications. In the age of digitalization, we need this agility to develop creative software solutions for our customers."
